Betarim In North America

We were in an office in Tzur Hadassah where we slept. During the day we worked on Mevot Betar. Someone was on the telephone & said "We're in the 'Old City." Someone else said, "What?" "We're in the 'Old City." A bottle of brandy (?) was opened.

The Tzahal officer assigned to Tzur Hadassah asked us if we wanted to send telegrams to the States. I sent the above telegram. The original said, "Everything OK. Old Jerusalem Ours." The telegram they received was slightly altered. (The telegram says the message was sent June 7 at 3:30 PM but it was received in NY 49 hours later. Slow wires.)
